Cyrus's Story
Life
Hey Good People. Life has been good to me. I am in my 30th year as an employee of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. I started working here 3 months after my 17th birthday, thanks to the COOP program, Mrs. Hollingsworth and Mr. Gilmore. I graduated Strayer College in "89" with a BS in Data Processing Mgmt. I currently work with the Publications Team, specializing in Desktop Publishing & Graphics Design. I still live in the DC area and am loving it.
I am licensed minister at a local church and "being Born Again" is the best part of my life. In March 2001, i got a chance to go to West Africa (Dakar, Sengal) for 7 days and the experience far exceeded all imaginings that i dreamed the experience would be.
Down through the years, since leaving "HD", i have dabbled in music from singing, traveling with a local group, writing, sitting in w/Jazz trios at Coffee Houses, to appearing on a few local TV shows, and recording a demo. It's my ultimate goal to establish a music publishing company and lease some of my music to other artist.... and maybe sing a "little bit". I have been able to lend backing vocals to a few local projects and currently have original material being reviewed by a ...Expand for more
few publishing companies... so life is "progressing".
In September 2005, i traveled to the US Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. You must go to St. John..... i loved it so much i am going back just as soon as i can get there.
I got married on July 15, 2006 and i am so glad to say that the young lady (Mona) was my friend first.... and that helped us when we transitioned to romance. We were just buddies for some 8 to 9 years before romance entered our view. Kinda like Minnie Riperton sang in her song: Lover & Friend.
There have been some challenging times down through the years, true. But the most awesome thing is that challenges come and challenges go, but purpose & destiny remain the same.
Let 2012 and 2013 be your year of new beginnings, do all that is in your heart to do and May God richly lead and guide you as you pursue the fullness of His purpose and plan for your life.

During my days at HD, i loved the Pep Rallys, the games, the experience was a really good one for me. Even though, during those days i wasn't saying that much.... i really enjoyed myself. I remember Mrs. Parks, Mrs. Tillerson, Mr. Bradford, Ms. Gaines, and so many others that it would be impossible to name....
