D's Story
I'm still trying to figure out what I'll do if I ever grow up. I'm working on a Native America Studies Masters degree here at Montana State in Bozeman and will probably go work on a reservation for the rest of my life - somewhere lost in Wyoming. I still love beautiful mountains, the desert and playing music. I lost both of my parents this year so am feeling pretty orphaned. Joe is still living in the area and has moved into the Altadena house. es and found out that I am 9 different tribes spanning the two American continents - the strongest Apache and Lakota; this has helped me know myself and allowed me to claim my indigenous heritage. I think that societies answers lie in the ancient knowledge from the Americas if we take the time to truly listen without the need to appropriate, exterminate, or dominate the wisdom that exists with the tribes. We are entering 2010 with a lunar eclipse - in the sign of Cancer. This marks the start of an new compassionate mindset and hopefully we will all learn to care for our own people here in the United States.
