Dale's Story
After I left MLHS I went on to school and earned an associates degree in
biomedical engineering. Which is the repair and maintenance of medical
equipment. I have practiced my profession at Columbia St. Mary's hospital here
in Milwaukee since Sept 1976. With my current position I maintain large radiation treatment units that help fight cancer. I have 2 units at the water tower location and 1 out at our OZ site. I am also maintaining ultrasound units as well has portable X-ray units.
I married my high school sweat heart Nancy and we built a home in the village of Eagle (1979). This is located in the south western Waukesha county. We live about a
mile from "Old World Wisconsin".
We have had 2 children, a daughter born in 1980. She is currently a house wife
and a mother of my 3 grand-kids. My grand daughter is 8 and my grand son is 4, and a new born.
My son, born in 1985 is an employee in Orlando at Walt Disney World. He not
only drives the monorail he also teaches other people how to drive. He was just
promoted to a coordinator position.
I am very proud of my children and grand children they are (along with my wife)
my greatest blessings.
As you can imagine I spend a lot of time in Orlando visiting my son. His mother
likes to make sure he is ok, especially when the snow is flying in WI.
In my spare time I enjoy working on my 1993 corvette. Although since I don't
drive it that much it spends most of its time in the garage. What I spend most
of my spare time on is locating, and bring back to life, unused, unloved
motorcycles. It is a hobby that has developed ...Expand for more
over time, and I enjoy the sound
of a motor coming to life that has been asleep for a long time.
As I get older I have seen some of my classmates pass away. I see there faces (Fred Miller with the big white cooking hat). Some times it just seems like yesterday that I was going to basketball/foot ball games, pep rallies. And other times it seems like a life time ago.
I sometimes get sad that these times are just a memory, but like I tell my wife. "Don't be sad because it is over. Be glad that it happened". I look In my year books and remember what it was like to be 17 again. With each passing year
the memories of those 4 years mellows a little more. I remember the crazy things
we did. The friends/loves/cars I had. The teachers that teach me lessons that I still use
today. I still count the fillers (not/but) when a candidate gives a speech. Thank you Mr. Dobberfuhl.
I also take the soap out of the package after I buy it to dry out
the water, to make it last longer. Thank you Ms Krueger.
"The cost of something is not what you pay for it, but what you cant use the money for to buy something else". Thank you Mr. Greinke.
And I cannot forget. "It is not a burn out, it is a torque out". thank you Mr. Batchelor.
Sometimes it seems like it was so long ago. Like when I see a MLHS letter jacket with number on it like 10, or 11. I still have mine with the number "74" on it. It has been a long time since it fit.
I want to thank everyone that has signed my guest book, but I currently dont pay for this service, so I am unable to see them.
