Dale's Story
Although I didn't get to graduate with my class of 71, my heart was always with the the school and the kids I grew up with. Unfortunately for me my parents moved to Florida late in our junior year so I moved to Palm Beach Gardens where I finished school. Kinda sucked but that move did create my future. Palm Beach Gardens was a huge school heavily influence by a totally different culture then we all grew up in. For those of you I played sports with, it was a different world especially with the fact they had no wrestling and was dominated by very southern coaching. I played football and ran track for the school till I got this great gig on a fishing boat. Spent alot of time on the ocean helping people deep sea fish. The cool thing was many families were from the north so there was alot to relate to. scue and coastal support. The CG took me from Cape May NJ to Elizabeth NC to my primary station in Mobile Ala. I got out of the CG and went back to school, graduated and was recruted to Texas where I worked for Texas Inst. So I changed jobs into the Telecom industry and that pretty much was my career for 20+ years with my family. My son is now 24 and is an officer in the USCG. When he went to the CG Academy in Conn. We sold everything and moved to Twin Mt. NH. population 600 in the mountains (lots of moose). This place started as a vacation house and wound up as a permanent residence for 5 years. When Tony graduated from the academy, it was time to finally move home....back to Ohio. Many of you may remember my brother Ron graduated from RHHS in 69 and has been in Ohio for the duration. It took me 30+ years to make it back but better late than never. Crazy story and its been a long road home.
