Dale's Story
Life
I have retired from my teaching career as of June 2002. I was in the Glen Cove (Long Island) system since 1976, after moving to NYC from Buffalo, where I taught in the Clarence Central Schools from 1968-71. After coming to NY I got in a show called COMING TOGETHER which was written by Wally Harper who is currently Barbara Cook's musical director/accompanist. I performed professionally for a short time--one of my costars in the early years was Annie Potts (DESIGNING WOMEN) before she graduated from Stephens College. Now I am involved with a project at The Kennedy Center in D.C. and CBS, preparing to write a reference text for schools related to the yearly KENNEDY CENTER honorees. , star of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on tour Broadway, and an old friend of mine from the days of Music Theatre North in Potsdam, keeps me a seasoned traveler as I follow her around the USA on her singing assignments whenever I can. She and her college friend (DIVA) Renee Fleming kept me VERY busy as I prepared to MC a Gala Benefit in NYC at The Riverside Church last February 22nd. Along with Margaret Lattimore and Tamara Mesic, two other fabulous singers from our Crane School at SUNY Potsdam, and friends of ours as well, we helped raise close to a quarter-of-a-million for our alma mater.
