Susana's Story
Enjoyed an American Field Service scolarship during 1965 - 66, living at the home of Kathy Toone and family, and then returned to Montevideo, Uruguay, in South America, where she kept on with her studies while working at the National Telephone Company of Uruguay (ANTEL). She later became Chairman of the National Telephone Workers Union (SUTEL).
During 1992 she headed, accompanied by notorious political leaders of the time, the national movement against privatization of the Telephone Services in the country, which was so repelled.
On 1995 she got elected to Senate where she served for three terms.

as buried January 1st., 2013 at the small town of Tarariras, Colonia, where she had been born, at her grandma`s farm house, July 16th. 1948.
The ceremony was attended by Senators, Representatives, Ministers and the then President of Uruguay, Jose Mujica. The Vice President, Danilo Astori, gave the Eulogy Speech.
A joint Solemn Session (Asamblea General), with all Senators and Representatives honoring her, was then held at Congress on March 8th., on the International Women´s Day.
She was survived by three kids, Fernando, Maria and Francisco.
She was a great mother.
