Life
Where do I start? Directionless after graduation, I attended Palomar until they kicked me out. Those who knew me at PHS probably wouldn't be surprised to learn that I was pretty heavily into drugs back then. My self-destructive behavior finally landed me in jail in '94, (actually a defining moment in my life). After a month in jail (and 50 days of forced labor, which were much harder than jail), I moved to Salt Lake, where I bartended and lived for my ski pass.
I went back to school in 2000, this time I actually attended classes and did my coursework, which worked out great. Going back to school gave me the opportunity to study abroad, so I did a semester (3 months) in London, and also one in S America (a few weeks each in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil). I still live in the Salt Lake area with my wife Karana and our daughter Chloe, who just turned three. We also have a dog and two cats. I never thought I wanted this type of domesticity - I was wrong. My wife and daughter are the best things to happen in my life. Maybe it's just like the college experience - I needed to mature for a few decades before I took the plunge.
I manage at a local credit union, writing mortgages and some additional consumer lending. In the winter I snowboard as often as possible; in the non-winter months, I golf (poorly), and have recently ridden in a few century bike rides. My wife and I love to travel, and we do so as often as our schedules and wallets allow.
we also try to make it back to San Diego as much as possible.
