Damon's Story

Life Gwen and I went to senior prom together at CHS. I think we were the only couple that had a good time in the snowstorm. :) Our first date was on Valentine's day - we went to the movies. Remember "Buck night at the movies?" Gwen and I have three daughters who are doing fantastic. Jordan (17), Sarah (14), and Rachel (11). I am the Associate Superintendent for Priority Schools in El Paso ISD. I oversee 22 campuses that historically struggle academically. Many of my campuses are right along the Texas/Mexico border. School I started at UW, but just about flunked out. I took a couple of years off and then started back at Texas Tech, where my brother was playing football (Go Raiders!). Straigh...Expand for more
tened up and graduated from Texas Tech in 1991, started teaching high school English in San Antonio. Got my master's from Univ. of Texas, became an assistant principal and then a principal in Houston. Got my doctorate from The University of Houston in Ed. Leadership. Moved to El Paso, Texas and am now an Associate Superintendent for El Paso ISD. College Graduated from Texas Tech in 91, then got my Master's from UT San Antonio in '93. Finished with my doctorate from Univ. of Houston in 2004. Glad to be done with that aspect of my life! Workplace Associate Superintendent for Priority Schools, El Paso ISD. If I would have known this is where I would end up, I would have paid more attention in Spanish class!
