Dan's Story
My story..Starting from now and going backwards. I am home in Santa Cruz, CA with my wife of 30 years, Sharon (Allen). We are happy happy happy. I have heard it said: "marriage is a people growing machine" and so it is.
Home also is youngest son Christopher, 19 and a freshman at UCSC. A delightful young man who has a talent for playing the piano, shooting pool, and playing poker, and school and football (guard). Out of the house is oldest son David (30), intersted in universal questions and part of our real estate brokerage business. Middle Son Eric(28) too is out and nearing graduation in math (UCSC) and planning on grad school.
No grandchildren, but, a dog peanut belonging to Eric that we have a lot while he is studying.
I am keeping busy with my real estate brokerage, Monterey Bay Real Estate Services. Sharon is one of my agents.

re dept from Mill Valley Fire Dept. Got there by way of US Forest service (3 seasons on the good old Saugus district and then one plus in Big Sur) Some very good times in the fire service.
Oh, also went to UCSC for 2 years before taking a leave of absence to determine what I want to be when I grow up. Still thinking about that.
We particularly enjoy camping. Have not become tired of camping in Big Sur and can get there in about an hour and a half, so it is good for weekends. Got off the ground with a trailer last year and so far have stayed on the road with it (backing into campsites is another matter).
In "Breakfast of Champions" Kurt Vonnegut coins the term "Karas" for a group of souls that have incarnated on the planet for some purpose (probably learning). Could be us.
For all of you who shared a time and place with us, I wish you well. I am sure that your lives, as ours, have been a journey.
