Dan's Story
Two weeks after graduation, I joined the US Air Force. My duties were as a Avionics (Aviation Electronics) Technician. My assignments included Warner Robins AFB, Pease AFB, NH, Holloman AFB, NM, three tours of duty at Lowry AFB, CO, Randolph AFB, TX, two tours in England(one of three years and the other two years), and some time as a Master Instructor teaching Avionics on numerous aircraft. I have since retired from the Air Force. I have also been a Professor teaching at two colleges in Lexington, KY, the University of Texas San Antonio and teaching electronics during my last tour in England. ing with or for the military since. Currently I am working with the US Army as a DOD employee as an depot level repair representative for Command and Control systems on Blackhawk (UH-60) helicopters. I have been deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I recently received notice that I will be deploying again to Afghanistan this year.
I met my wife while at Warner Robins AFB and have been very happily married now for 39 years(since 1974). We have one son who is currently serving in the US Air Force. My wife was also in the US Air Force now retired.
