Dan's Story

I graduated from the University of Southern California with majors in Political Science and Psychology. Images that come to mind during those undergrad years are football (coach John McKay's student body left, student body right) Ronnie Howard (Opie Taylor from Andy of Mayberry) with a full head of bright red hair running to class, and a young Josh McDowell (from Campus Crusade) standing in front of the Student Union speaking to the lunch crowd about how Jesus changed his life. After the undergrad years, I took a year off from school and worked as a resident counselor at the Blind Children's Center. e courses part time in their Master of Divinity - Christian Education program. During those years, I also helped out at churches and para church organizations doing speaking engagements, workshops, youth work, and teaching classes. After my seminary education, I wanted to obtain a formal teaching credential in order to teach in public schools. My first assignment was teaching inner city kids at a junior high located in South Los Angeles. It was a great experience. I have been teaching in public schools for over 20 years and have been credentialed to teach Political Science, Psychology, and Mathematics in secondary schools. I enjoy spending time in the Pacific Northwest with my wife and two kids. When I'm not teaching, I participate in church activities and cruise in my 1966 Chevy Nova - on clear days.
