Dan's Story
Life
This past year has been an incredible year for the Whitcher family. After living in Nevada for 7 years, Michelle and I felt it was time to move and see natural grass and rain again. I accepted an Associate VP position with the third largest college in South Carolina in early Mar 07 and Michelle, Jade, DJ and Brandon joined me in July 07.
Our move from Las Vegas to South Carolina was filled with new experiences and many new memories, especially the trip Brandon, DJ and I took during July with our two cats (Smokey and Tom) and Lucky the labradoodle. Let me just say, after spending 3 days on the road with my boys and our pets, I have a new appreciation for what is meant by the phrase "letting the cat out of the bag".
Brandon (9) and DJ (12) have had a wonderful year and are enjoying the Southern hospitality, especially...Expand for more
the food. Brandon has maintained an A average in all his subjects and took second place in the ATA Nationals. Both DJ and Brandon have received their Black Belt 2nd degree ratings with the American Tae Kwon Do Association (ATA). Although Karate is a passion for the boys, they are both avid tennis players too.
Jade, now five (5), is my little princess. She maintains the tempo for the household. Busy, busy, busy. She is involved in all the activities with the boys, and soon will be taking dance classes and karate too.
Michelle completed her two-year contract with SAIC and has landed a dream job with General Dynamics supporting a project for the Department of Homeland Security. It is good to see that the government has hired great people to protect our nation.
