Life Hi Gang, Lets see since 1979 what have i done: Moved to Colorado and was a ski bum for 2 years, and got very aggressively into Cross Coutnry Skiing and Running. I moved to MA out by Boston to train with a Finnish family who's son was on the US Ski Team. I traveled racing for a Year and decided i needed to go to college, because once you actually get to know the people on the US Ski Team i no longer really admired them. Most were jerks. I went to college at Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. I was on the ski team for 4 out of 5 years and got an Accounting Degree with a Minor in Business Admin. I met my girlfriend/wife my fifth year in College. (Ann) I worked in Crested Butte for a year while she completed her degree at Western (Biology) and then we moved to Silicon Valley in 1988. I worked at a CPA firm for a year and then joined Knight Ridder's which i worked at for 8 years. I got my MBA while i worked for Knight Ridder and got involved in a re-engineering program establishing a shared service center for their newspaper divisions. While at Knight Ridder i had the following positions: Sr Accountant ($27.5k) Sr Consolidation Accountant ($45K) Financial Analyst ($55K) Sr Financial Analyst ($65K) Divisional Controller ($75k) I got recruited by KPMG based on the Oracle exposure i got from the Re-Engineering project and joined them in 1997 as a Sr Consultant. Sound slike a step down but it was a $20K raise. I was making $85K! and it was entry level pay! I have been with KPMG throughout their consulting division spin-off. The ocmpany is now called Bearing Point. I have been with BearingPoint implementing Oracle Financial systems for 9 years now and make $170K a year, but get scared at least once a year that i may get layed off. So far my hard work and reputation have saved me, but all who i started with are now gone.
