Dan's Story
It's a great life! I came west to do grad work at the University of Chicago and settled here for a long career in higher ed. I found Fran, the love of my life, late (49); it was our good fortune that she was young enough to have children. We have two, both bright and fun, one in HS and one in college. We're members of the Hump Night Thumpers, the jug band that won the 25th annual Battle of the Jug Bands in Minneapolis (see Youtube); I teach harmonica at the Old Town School of...Expand for more
Folk Music (oldtownschool.org) -- an instrument I learned in mid life. I also write reviews for Sing Out Magazine and elsewhere, and am Membership Chair for the Caxton Club, a booklovers group (caxtonclub.org). Ah, and I also participate in the MC Mini Masters, a one-day mini-golf tournement in which we play 108 holes of mini-golf in a day.
How this all happened is a puzzlement; all I know is that it's a blessing, and I'm thankful for it every day of my life.
