Dana's Story

Life I left Monterey in 1992 and traveled the country for 4 years on my Harley. I got married in 1996 and lived in, of all places, Center Point, Iowa (that is a long story). I have 3 beautiful children, Anthony, born in 1996, Emma, born in 1998 and a stepdaughter, Amanda, born in 1992. I am forever busy and on the go...never bored! I moved back to Monterey in March of this year (2010). I'm sure I remember more people than remember me but I would love to hear from my old classmates! I wasn't known for much except skipping class, smoking on the bleachers (yes, I was a "bleacher creature"), having coffee at The Poppy, partying way too much and being very quiet (unless you knew me, then you couldn't shut me up!) I have since, of course, grown up quite a bit (still smoke and drink coffee but no longer drink) and would not go back to being a teenager for anything! Being in my 40's (ugh!) I have learned that there is so much more that life has to offer than parties! I am quite happy with my Durango, my Harley, my kids and the general, relative stability of adulthood. My kids are my life and I long ago gained a new respect for my mom! I would love to hear from anyone who might remember me. I am still in touch with several close friends from high school but would love to hear from other people. More Q & A: How do I blow off steam? I jump on my bike and go for a long ride. The wildest thing I ever did in school? Fortunately, I do not remember it! Do you have a hero? My hero in school was Mr. Martin. He was my savior. That man saved my life, li...Expand for more
terally. I will forever be grateful to him and wish I could tell him that myself. Share your obsessions: Love my kids obsessively! Harley Davidson anything!I love football! Go Bears! Hate reality TV. Share what you've learned from your kids: My kids have taught me unconditional love. They are working on teaching me patience! They are, after all, 11, 13 and 17! They have taught me that the world does not revolve around me and my wants, anymore. What happened to your first crush? He is living in DC and I had the opportunity to get together with him a few years ago. Had dinner and had a great time! My best friend would tell you I'm perfect :-),have a soft side, am funny and sarcastic and terrible at keeping in touch but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a *itch. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? That I was able to, at 40, leave the life I had known for 15 years and come back to California. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? I truly don't know what I would do differently. The things I did and experienced made me who I am today and I think I'm a pretty well-grounded, decent person. My current age is 41. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient and boring. I was so completely WRONG!. Talk style? 20 years ago I was a size 2. I could be stylish with little effort (if you could call the 80's clothes "style"). Now, after having children, I am no longer a size 2 (nunya what my size is now) so I dress for comfort!
