Dana's Story
Life
Everyone knows how navy life is well. That has been my life. I have a 1 year old son that is my life. I really enjoy being a mom. But I also enjoy working in medical. And that is what I went to school to do. So here I am a mom and a medical assistant. And I love both jobs.

Well I joined the navy back in June 2001. My first duty station was the USS Emory S. Land which is a sub tender. That was my first overseas duty station in Italy. I really loved Italy but I wanted to be back state side. But we got to see Souda Bay, Spain, Turkey, Rome, and Geata Italy. After about 8 months I came b...Expand for more
ack state side to go to school. I went through about 15 weeks of school to be a Corpsmen in Great Lakes IL.
After that school I went to Camp Pendlton in CA for Field Med Service school for 7 weeks. At that time I was learning to live with the marines in the field setting. We went on humps that was 4,6,7,8 miles. I really enjoyed that school a lot. After that school I went to San Diego which is about a 30 min drive from Camp Pend for Prevent Medicine Tech school. That school was about 6 months long. Now I am station in VA at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and I really enjoy my job. More to come later..............
