Dana Smith:

CLASS OF 1982
Monroe, LA

Dana's Story

Life Since graduation, I went to Northeast Louisiana University and received a degree in Communicative Disorders and became certified in deaf education. I have been employed by the OPSB for about 16 years as an itinerate hearing impaired teacher. I married Flint Smith in 1986, had my daughter Callie in 1987, my son Caleb in 1990, and Connor in 1994. So now I have an almost 17 year old driving and fully understand what my parents went through. My husband is a psychologist and does a variety of different work, from working in schools,to addiction clinics, and teaching a class at ULM. We live in West Monroe, and moved into a new home last June 2003. We attend First Baptist Church in West Monroe, and are very involved there. My husband teach...Expand for more
es a life group and plays the drums there. My daugher Callie is a very talented singer who is involved in 3 different choirs and tours 2 or 3 times a year all over the country singing with them. I have traveled with her to D.C., Boston, St. Louis, Chicago, etc. Last Easter my husband and I both went with her and had a chance to watch her sing at Carnagie Hall in New York. It was a memory I will never forget. (Life is pretty exciting outside of WestMonroe, LA!) My boys also bring me such joy. ONe is very quiet, and the other cannot say enough. They both enjoy playing football for their elementary and middle schools. Our life really revolves around them at this time in our lives! Looking forward to the next reunion. Dana Goleman Smith
