Dane's Story
Life
I retired at the end of 2003 from shift work in a Power plant near Buffalo NY. I moved to a very rural area in the center top of North Carolina about 20 miles south of the Virginia border. I am building additions and a large metal barn so I can keep my stuff covered and repaired and hopefully will get my motorcycle back on the road soon so I can do some trips including back down in the old school area and possibly meet up with and say HI to some of my old friends. I like NC a lot better than Buffasnow, believe me.
School
I HATED DILZER, she had taught my mother. My mother didn't like her either. I really liked most of the people at the school a lot. Everybody was friendlier and got along better with each other.I also attended Seabreeze HS in Daytona and most of them su--ed. The Youth club was a lot of fun and I remember the beach and inlet dunes and the old fort brings back a lot of good memories. Kinda makes me wish I still had the old surfboard.

aining classes and courses on management over the years.
Workplace
Florida- Various Surveying and engineering jobs including the Sunshine Mall in Clearwater and the Main road survey for entering Disney World Florida to Hammond Indiana - Hung bumpers on Fords at an assembly Plant. Indiana to Buffalo NY- Worked in a Steel mill for 6 months then got laid off. Went to work reading meters for a Public Utility called Niagara Mowhawk Power Corp. From that job went in to a power plant called C.R. Huntley Steam Station and worked my way up thru the jobs to management as a Station Shift Supervisor. I worked on shift work for 34 years untill my retirement at the end of 2003.
Military
The Draft Board in Daytona Beach never sent me my notice for a physical so I didn't have to go to Nam. I was 1A but I knew better than hanging out on the beach during school hours. I would have gone if they had just sent the notice. Luckey or not I will never know. Some times I wonder how my life would have changed.
