Daniel's Story
Life
After I graduated from TL I went to Delta Collge for two years. After Delta I went to Anderson University to play baseball. Could not get a teaching job so worked at Nodular Iron and went to grad school at CMU. While on internship at Petoskey met and married my wife Diane. I have been married to same girl for 30 years. We have three sons-Josh grad of MIT-Aaron grad of U of M. Jake grad. James Madison (MSU).
I have been teaching and coaching for the last 29 years at Bellaire High School in Bellaire Mi. Diane is also a teacher at Bellaire. I have been very involved in the MEA as a board member. I have been luck enough to be elected president of the Northern Michigan Education Association for the last 20 years. Also involved in Democratic party as a national convention delegate for the last three convention. In the summer we have traveled all over the country and have enjoyed the benefits of being involved in the union.
School
When I look back at high school I realize that it was a great time and if Viet Nam had not came along it would have been the greatest time to grow up

lege in 1968. Attended and received a AB from Anderson College in 1970. Attend and received a MA from Central Michigan University in 1972. I also attended the University of Michigan as a transfer student.
Workplace
After the foundry I was a counselor and teacher at Port Austin PS for 3 1/2 years. Then I accepted a job at Bellaire HS. and I have been there since I left Port Austin
update-we now have two granddaughers in New York. I am still a counselor and a coach. I should retire soon but am still at it.
I now am a part owner of a great gun club and have gotten involved with all the shooting sports. It is difficult with all the damn Republican rednecks that I have to put up with. There a few liberals that do enjoy the shooting sports.
How many of us ever though we would live this long back in the 60's?
So far it has been a good life and I have a great soul mate.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Rita Walthers, because She was one fine lady. I lost track ofher after my junior year in college. I look back and realized she was a girl who cared about people and would make a great nurse .
