Daniel's Story

Hi. Currently I am living in San Francisco with my wife and son. I am the EMS Operations Officer for the City of Oakland Fire Department. I came out to San Francisco in 2003. I was the trauma educator for the Department of Public Health at San Francisco General, then I went to the Alameda Fire Dept as the EMS Coordinator. Now I am with the City of Oakland. Since high school it has been a wild ride for me. I completed my masters degree from New Jersey City University. I earned my BS from Montclair State in Allied Health, and nursing degree from USNY Albany campus in Nursing. I have been working as an EMT/Paramedic in the City of Newark since 1983. also the Immediate-Past Chairman of the National Paramedic Division for the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians(NAEMT). Currently I also serve as the Secretary of the International Association of EMS Chief's. I have had several articles published and I served on numerous educational committees and have lectured at several national conferences. I have had several articles published in trade journals, as well as book chapters in EMS related texts. I just recently co-authored/contributed a paper for the International Association of EMS Chief's that was sent to the National Security Council and the President of the United States I have been to the Bahamas, British Columbia, Canada, Hong Kong, Zurich and Calcutta, all for business/research. I will be pursuing doctorate in public health in the fall of 2012.
