Daniel Hardin:  

rdin was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Chaplain Candidate. He was then assigned to the 1st Battalion, 137th Air Assault Helicopter Battalion. In August 2001, Chaplain Hardin completed the Chaplain Officer Basic Course and was commissioned as a chaplain in April 2002. He served as the Battalion Chaplain of the 1-137th Air Assault Helicopter Battalion for another year. In May 2003, Chaplain Hardin re-entered active duty. Since that time, he has been the Battalion Chaplain of the 1st Battalion, 81st Armored Regiment and the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment. His additional military education includes: Basic Airborne Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course, and the Chaplain Assistant Reclassification Course. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (w/one oak-leaf cluster), the Army Commendation Medal (w/three oak-leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (w/four oak-leaf clusters), and the Good Conduct Medal, the Reserve Component Achievement Medal (w/two oak-leaf clusters), the Armed Forces Reserve Medal (w/bronze hourglass device), and the Basic Parachutist Badge. Chaplain Hardin is married to the former Ann Herbert of Centerville, Ohio. They have four children: Matthew, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Katherine.
