Daniel's Story
Well, you made it this far and so have I; that's something to celebrate! Chances are if you're reading this, you share my graduation year - 1984. That means you're also in your 40's, a time in all our lives when looking back on the youth you once had most likely brings forth a wry smile and a chuckle.
Frankly, there isn't much my teenage self and I share beyond continuity of existence - those who recall me from those days probably remember a reckless hedonist with a generous dose of awkwardness mixed in. Needless to say, my hedonism is well behind me now and I'm much more comfortable in my own sk...Expand for more
in as I hurtle towards my dotage.
I never complain about getting older - there are many who are denied the privilege. I have a son who will turn 16 soon, a son I love ferociously and am immensely proud of. I can't wait to see the trajectory of his life and am content in the certitude that he, like so many of his generation, will positively shape our future in ways that we only see the vague outlines of presently.
