Daniel's Story

Life After years of avoiding the police and being not too successful at it I figured the wise thing for me to do was to conform. Life has been much easier since. Well, Its now off to Madrid, Spain after 2 1/2 years in Beijing, China - took a job with the International Oympic Committees broadcasting subdivision, Olympic Broadcasting Services, same faces just different scheme but at least it will be a place to call home until I want to change it. I now get to oversee those that do what I used to do - fly into a city, act like I know what I am doing, then leave. I am leaving Beijing with some good memories but am happy to see it in the rear veiw mirror. After being in Torino, Italy for 16 months for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games til the end of March 2006, living in Sydney Australia, Salt Lake City and Athens, Greece performing the same function there for the 2000 Summer Games, 2002 Winter Games and again the Summer Games of 2004. it is time to kick back and enjoy life. Time off gets me to Chicago for some Cubs games, will they ever win they damn thing in my lifetime, Vegas to lose some money, Maine to let some air out and anywhere a plane lands near a golf course. . I lived in Maine for a couple years seeing what life would be...Expand for more
like without traffic jams and buildings no taller than 3 stories, but a longing for Wrigley Field in the summertime and the fear of becoming a title character in a Stephen King novel drew me back to sweet home Chicago. But after each Olympics I always return there to get solitude and take some time to reflect on what I have done and what I am going to do. For some reason I never leave there with concrete answers but I feel it is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. I have bounced around ( and continue to bounce around ) for several years and never really found what I wanted to do in life, hell, I still don't know but I am finally having a whole lot of fun doing it. I am amd always have been single ( didn't feel right dragging anyone else into the abyss or all around the world - some people think its' exotic, conscience you know ), I am sure there is someone out there but I have checked nearly everywhere. Well its time for me to go and pack my house again, the show never ends - they just move it to another city. If you get the opportunity, please drop me a line after Nov 15 2008, if you are ever in Spain - look me up - I will be the one barbecuing at that house on the lake with the mountains in the background.
