Daniel's Story
I recently retired after working for the City of Miami for the past thirty-four years as a firefighter and Chief Fire Officer. I served as Special Events Officer when I was a Lieutenant and had one of the most unique jobs ever. Meeting several United States Presidents and many other Polictical dignitaries during those years. Working with sports organizations such as the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and the University Of Miami Football Teams during the eighties. he early days. I completed my college education at Florida International University in '79 and maintained an ongoing training program in the Fire Rescue field for many years. When becoming a Chief Fire Officer in early 1990's, I was assigned to District 2 in the north section of Miami and commanded the Technical Rescue Unit. Had a wonderful nine years as the District Chief and worked with some of the best firefighters in the country. My life has changed drastically since my lovely wife of thirty years, Kathryn Michael passed away. She also was a graduate of Southwest in 1967. I now look towards the future for whatever life will bring and I wiil face those challenges yet to come, with an open heart.
