Daniel Randolph:  

After graduation in 1965, I worked a few jobs including as a carpenter's helper, pumping gas at Bill's Sinclair Station and Alliance Manufacturing prior to receiving my Greetings and Salutations notice. I had previously taken the Armed Forces Entrance Examination and registered with the United States Air Force recruiter. I was fortunate to be enlisted in the USAF on August 2nd, 1967. If I had not been, I would have either been drafted into the U S Army or the U S Marine Corps on August 3rd. I went to Lackland AFB, TX for basic training and then was assigned to Fairchild AFB, WA. My entire career was in Accounting and Finance. While at Fairchild AFB, I ran into Duane Schafer and his wife. I left Fairchild AFB in August 1969 for a tour of duty in Vietnam. I was at Nha Trang until November and then went to Cam Ranh Bay until I left country in August 1970. My next assigment was at Charleston AFB, SC until I departed in 1973 for Scott AFB, IL. I was at Scott AFB until December 1976 when I was reassigned to Spangdahlem AB, Germany. I arrived at Spangdahlem in January 1977 and left that assignment early in January 1978 because my Mother was dying of cancer. I was assigned to Wright Patterson AFB, OH until June 1984 when I was then assigned to Hill AFB, UT. I left Hill AFB in September 1986 for an assignment to Thule AB, Greenland where I stayed North of the Arctic Circle until I left in October 1987 for my last assignment at Griffiss AFB, NY.
