I am now looking for a new project in another two months! We will have finished Unit 2, and Unit 1 will be done and running early next year. Underwent repair of my left knee (ACL replacement and meniscus repair) in November 2010. Returned to work before the end of January this year. I am currently back on the job in Tiverton, Ontario, Canada. I review plant equipment installations for EQ on the Bruce Power 1 & 2 Refurbishment/Restart project. I have been on this project since April 2007. It should be completed sometime late in 2011. It is a first! We are restarting two nuclear power plants that were shutdown in the early 90's on a new 25 year license. Over the years I served 10 years in the US Navy on submarines as a reactor operator. Since then I was an Instrumentation & Control Systems technician at San Onofre Nuclear Generating station for over 6 years prior to going to Trojan Nuclear power plant for Portland General Electric until they shut it down in 1993. Since April 1993 I have been contracting my services in the nuclear power industry. I have been to South Texas Project, Maine Yankee, Millstone 1 and 3, Indian Point 2, Palisades, Brunswick 2, Waterford, Idaho National Laboratory, Grand Gulf, Cooper, Sequoyah, Bruce 3 & 4, and now Bruce 1 & 2.
