Daniel's Story
Life
I just don't seem to want to grow up. I have 8 kids, 4 grandkids, and I play in a Rock'n'Roll / Rhythm and Blues band. I've basically been married from 1987-2006 to 2 beautiful Women ( not at the same time of course ), and now I am divorced, and for the first time since I was a teenager, I'm on my own.
In the late 70's up to 1987,I played in various rock'n'roll bands, and worked various jobs, off, and on. More off, then on. I've been on stage with Tower of Power ( Thanks Andy Fuller ), not playing though. Andy, and I were invited on stage at the Memorial Colosseum when we were teenagers while they played "Your still a young man". Andy's brother-in-law is Mic Gillette ( Trumpet ). I was invited to the Bay area a short time later, and had the honor of playing in a club with a group of players like Chepedo of Santana, and other horn players from past big bands. I traveled up and down the northern west coast from "Gussies" in Coos Bay, OR to "The Landing Strip" in Juneau, AK with various rock bands. I quit music in 1988 to work in an aluminum smelter in Vancouver, WA and married my second wife. The plant shut down 12 and 1/2 years later. I s...Expand for more
tarted playing my sax again. I did pick-up a craft from that period. I am also schooled as an electrician. After that I installed meters until that job closed, worked at Napa Pipe in Napa, CA until I got laid off. Played with a band called "Misguided Souls" ( appropriate ), we opened up for Elvin Bishop at the Mt. Hood Blues festival in 2003. By the way, my first wife, and I broke up because she loved me, but didn't care for my girlfriends. My second wife, and I broke up because I loved her, I just didn't care for her boyfriends.( kind of evened life out ) I've been playing ever since, the summer of 2006 I was asked to play with the Belairs in Sandpoint, ID as we opened up for surf King Dick Dale and the Delltones, surf music man. The place sold-out at $34.50 a head, thousands of people showed, I got paid a whoppin'$125, whoooo-hoooo. What's wrong with that picture.one of the guitar players Doug Ruhman, and I decided to start a rhythm and Blues band in the beautiful Flathead Valley in the fall of 2006. And here we are, our band is like a train picking up speed. We are the Full Moon Prophets, Sorry grandkids, grandpa does not plan to grow up!!!!
