Daniel's Story
Dan was born and raised in Kankakee, Il where he attended St.Patrick Central/Bishop McNamara HS from 1961-1965. After graduation he attended Northern Illinois University where he graduated in 1969 with a BS in Marketing. He continued at NIU and received his MBA in 1971. He began his professional career in Idaho Falls, Id. with the US Atomic Energy Commission in 1972, and continued with this government agency and its successor agency (US Department of Energy) in Oak Ridge, Tn and Chicago, Il until his retirement in 2010.
Dan married the love of his life Karen Neville in 1970. They had dated since his Senior Prom in 1965. Karen...Expand for more
became a Registered Nurse in 1969 and later received Master's in Health Services Administration. She worked her entire career in Health Care as a Clinical nurse, Nurse Educator, and Nursing Administrator/Manager. After her retirement in 2009, she continues to work as a volunteer nurse with both the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge, TN and with the St. Mary's Mobile Medical Clinic which brings medical services to underserved counties in Tennessee.
Dan and Karen were blessed with two beautiful children Jeffrey (deceased) in 1974 and Lisa in 1977. They have four wonderful grandchildren who live in Franklin, Tn and Oak Ridge, Tn.
