Danny's Story
Life
Hey everyone! I'm on an overtime job and am really bored so why not post a bio! After high school I attended ACC for just long enough to party away a small scholership, then decided to work for a few years and ultimately became serious about life. I went back to school at ACC for awhile then entered the Travis County Sheriffs Academy in '87. I worked for Travis County for a while, became restless, then went to the AISD Police Department. I stayed with AISD until '91, and during that time I attended St. Edwards University (didn't complete my degree...but I will!!!) In '91 I went to work for the Austin Marshals Office. The Marshals Office was fun, but didn't pay well so in '93 I went to work with the Austin Police Department, which is where I'll stay until I retire, which means I have 10 years to go :) I've been blessed with three wonderful children: My son is 24 and lives / works in the Austin area. I also have two daughters ages 11 and 7. In addition to my children, I have a 23 year old brother...he and my son grew up together and are like brothers themselves.
As far as hobbies, ...Expand for more
I run / lift weights...on a good weak i'm in the gym about 4 days...but I don't have many good weeks! So that translates to an average of about three days a week. It would be good to hear from some old friends...so if you read this, leave a note so we can get in touch.
School
My biggest crush??....That varied from weekend to weekend!! Which teacher inspired me the most?...that would have been our Ag Teacher: Mr. Adams, he was a genuinely caring and good man.
College
Never completed my degree...have 47 hours of college, and thousands of clock hours of in-service training regarding my career which translates to a Master Peace Officer Certification, along with several other cetifications. Some i'm proud of: Basic SWAT, Hostage Negotiation, Law Enforcement Instructor, First Line Supervisor..
Workplace
Took a few years to get serious about life upon completion of high school. Entered law enforcement at age 22. Started with Travis County as a deputy in 1987, from there I went to AISD Police, Austin Marshals Office, and in 1993 to the Austin Police Department where I am currently a sergeant.
