Life
Hello everyone! I live in West Belleville with my husband Mark, new baby Kyleigh and my "daughter" Coral, a three year old Siberian Husky. Mark is active as a volunteer fireman, is on the St. Clair county hazmat and techincal rescue teams and is the disaster coordinator at Wash U. Right now I am looking for a job where I can use my Masters degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration but I currently work full time for the American Red Cross Blood Services Missouri-Illinois Regional HQ as a Quality Assurance Specialist.
College
After high school, I moved to Texas for college. I started at Texas Christian University (TCU) and then moved to Galveston Texas with my then-fiance (now husband). We both moved back here in 2000 and I finished my undergrad degre...Expand for more
e in Biology at SLU in 2002. In 2003, I started up my Masters degree at SIUE in Public Administration and Policy Analysis. I completed it in May of 2006. The PhD is going to have to wait... I'm burned out on college again. :)
Workplace
When I graduated from college in 2002, I thought I would have a hard time finding a job- who hires someone with just a Bachelors in Bio? The American Red Cross, that's who. It was my first and only interview... I'm still working for the ARC today. In July I will have been there for 5 years. Right now I function in a QA role, which is not my cup of tea... so I am currently searching.
If anyone knows somewhere that needs an administrator within the nonprofit sector, I'm open to new experiences... close to home would be nice!
