Dara's Story

Life Dara is a real estate broker and developer, doing business in the state of Florida. Prior to starting his real estate business, Dara was in charge of the land planning efforts of River Ridge Properties, Inc. and the Otto Pottberg Trust (Trust). During his association with the Trust, he purchased an equity position in Serenova, Ltd., the partnership formed to develop the 6,714 acre property. In 1992, he successfully negotiated the DRI and zoning approvals for 9,000,000 square feet of commercial, office and industrial uses together with over 7,000 home sites. He also formed the Serenova Community Development District, validated $16,200,000 in Tax Free Municipal Bonds, obtained plan approval to initiate construction on the first 861 lots in Phase 1 of Serenova, and ultimately negotiated the successful sale of the property. During his career as a developer, Dara has been involved in two of the larger mixed use developments in the State of Florida. Part of his success is due to his cultivation of a distinctive development style which includes saving much more of the existing vegetation and trees than is generally thought practical, creating a look and feeling to his projects which has proven to be an astute and profitable strategy. His employers and partners have said, “Dara always completes his projects and activities successfully.” Dara’s professional experience and talents include land planning, design and construction; utility planning and construction; comprehensive land use planning; zoning; and DRI permitting. Dara has been very successful in the vast majority of his negotiations with the various governmental agencies and commissions.
