Darcy's Story
I am currently on the faculty at the Rutgers University School of Social Work, and my husband is a biostatistician and psychometrician. Frankly, we're both research geeks and we love it. Our children, 4 boys (men, really), are a youth minister, a paramedic/firefighter/arson investigator, a doctoral student at the University of Washington, and our youngest is a contractor.
We have lived in great cities since leaving California - Chapel Hill North Carolina, New York City, Tallahasse...Expand for more
Florida, and now central New Jersey. As academics, we travel a lot for our work, and we may be changing universities in the next year or so.
We have had some challenging times, but life is wonderful now. We work hard training the next generation of practitioners and researchers who will tackle important health and social problems, yet we allow ourselves the summers to explore other ideas and locations. Really, it's all good when you have the right partner. Best wishes to you all!
