Darel's Story
Life
After graduation, I got married in 90', we had two kids. Then divorced in 96'. Remarried in 00'. Aquired custody of kids from first marriage in 01'. Adopted son in 02'. Divorced again in 04'. My hobbies include, camping/rv'ing, motorcyling, treasure hunting, home improvements.
Recently back from our honeymoon in Alaska.
I got married last July (2006) to a great woman, Tonya. She is from Niles, MI. She is going to school (IUSB) for elementary education.
You know what they say, the 3rd times a charm.
Workplace
After graduation (1986) I continued working part-time at the La Porte Herald-Argus. In Jan. of 87' I started working at Kingsbury Castings in Kingsbury,...Expand for more
IN. I left there in Apr. of 87' to start a 4 yr. apprenticeship in Off-Set Newspaper Printing at the La Porte Herald-Argus. I left the Herald-Argus in June of 98' to work at Federal-Mogul in South Bend, IN. At Federal-Mogul I had the opportunity to travel and lecture other Federal-Mogul facilities on Lean Manufacturing and the concepts of Constraint Management (2000). After a year of that I started an apprenticeship for Electrical/Mechanical Machine Repair. I finished this apprenticeship in May of 2005.
I left Federal-Mogul in January 2007 to work at U.S. Steel in Gary IN. as a MillWright. I an currently in the fast track program there at and will finish in Nov. 2007.
