Darin's Story
College
As if I wasn't having enough fun at Belaire, I was convinced to go straight to LSU in the summer. Well, I picked a major that had way more math than is healthy for the normal person, and I needed a break from school. After I realized more about what I wanted to do, I found that LSU no longer offered a degree in Criminal Justice, so I went to SLU. I was voted founding Vice President of the SLU Criminal Justice Association, ended up with a 4.0 in my core classes and was awarded an internship with the U.S. Marshals Service. Once I found out what I liked, college was much more fun and enjoyable. I still miss it, some.
Workplace

karatekicks dot com I was awarded an internship with the U.S. Marshals Service during my last semester, but they had a hiring freeze so while that would have been a great opportunity if I could've gotten in, that didn't take shape. So, I continued doing PI work and have been promoted to Director of Operations at a company that mainly does criminal background checks and other screening. I also trained in Martial Arts under Robert Torres in Baton Rouge and Denham Springs. I'm presently a 4th Degree Black Belt and have been teaching since 1988. I have my own school (American Karate Academy) in Baton Rouge. As if that's not enough, I also have a bail bond business, Action Bail Bond, but that hasn't been all it was cracked up to be, so I'm thinking of dropping it next year.
