Darius's Story
Life
One and all- Darius C. Burwell: Son, Brother, Friend, Ordained Preacher, Soldier
This picture represents my life since joining the Army in AUGUST 1989.
I've been around the world from the United States to as far west as South Korea to as far east as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq.
I've been on 4 combat tours: Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm- (1990-1991); and Operation Iraqi Freedoms I (2003), III (2005-2006) and (currently) V (2007-2008).
I've done one peace keeping operation- Operation Joint Endeavor (1995-1996), and one desert training operation- Operation Desert Spring (2002).
In the time since I have been in the military I have been apart of church ministries wherever I have been stationed- Church of Deliverance (Junction City, KS)- Fort Riley Kansas (1990-1994); Bad Kreuznach Christian Servicemen's Center (Bad Kreuznach, Germany) and the Rose Barracks Gospel Service- Germany(1994-1997); Deliverance Church of God (Copperas Cove, TX)-Fort Hood,TX (1997-2000); Camp Carroll Gospel- Camp Carroll (next to the town of Waegwon), South Korea (2000-2002); and currently Temple of Praise Church Ministries (Hinesville, GA) while I serve with the 3D Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA.. (2002-Present)

hand of Pastor George (and First Lady Milagros) Vazquez at
Deliverance C.O.G.. (1997)
: Transferred credentials, accepted licencing as a Minister- Church
of God In Christ under the hand of Pastor Harry A. Bowser, IV
(and First Lady Naomi Bowser) at Camp Carroll Gospel Service.
(2002)
: Transferred credentials, accepted licensing, received Ordination
into the Body of Elders, Church Universal under the hand of Pastor
(Dr.) Kevin L. Betton, Sr. (and First Lady Lorraine Betton), Temple
of Praise Church Ministries and by the authority of our covenant
ministry- The Kingdom Council of Interdependent Christian
Churches and Ministries (KCICCM),
(Bishop David M. Copeland, Presiding Bishop). (2007)
Through all of this- the time in service and the times of minstry- my greatest joy has not been the accomplishment of missions nor even the receipt of licencing and ordination in ministry. My gratest joy- THE PEOPLE.
The folks that I have met along the way have made this journey phenomenal. It hasn't always been smooth sailin- in fact some folks that I have met seem to love nothing more than to stir up some storms- but the venture has been well worth the undertaking.
I am grateful for ALL of those who throughout the years has made filled my many days with many memories. For all of the good, the bad and the ugly I take it all and say that my life has been blessed by these times.
So, this brings me to you all and a curious thought as to where live's journeys have found you since last we were in each others company in high school.
