Darlene's Story
Life
I am now living in Roseburg Or. with my husband Stan. We moved here in 2001 looking for a nice south slope to plant wine grapes on, we fell in love with the flatest piece of ground in Douglas County, not good for grapes but great hay land. So now we have a small quality horse hay operation. We do sooo enjoy the product of all the wine growers in our area. When we came here I worked in Operations for Umpqua Bank while I looked for a career position. I went to work for Douglas County Library System working between the HDQ and the county Law Library. I am now semi retired only working on call for the libraries. I really prefer playing with my horses, gardening and spending time in my home studio. rees and has a position with Natural Resource Conservation Service, one graduated with a BS in International Business and just got married and the youngest also graduated with a BS in Internation Business and is on his way to Seattle to do his Masters. We have one daughter living in Arizonia and she has now given us two beautiful grandchildren. There's a great excuse to go to Arizonia in the winter.
College
Every decade or so I've changed my mind about what I want to be when I grow up. In the 1970's I studied Ag. Science and Horticulture, I would later become a Master Gardener and an Oregon State Wildlife Steward. In the 1980's I studied Graphic Design and worked in publishing. In the 1990's I rolled that interest into Fine Arts and now I'm thinking next I would like to study Anthropology.
