Darrell's Story
After high school I went to work offshore in the oilfields, started playing music, spent the summer of '79 in Alaska on a drillship. An injury in 1980 ended my oilfield work. Still Played music in the early 80's I fronted a couple of bands as a singer. I started painting first Industrial then commercial and eventually residential. Nothing really that interesting or impressive. In 2000 joined a band named Ransom that In 2001 Opened for Bobby "Blue" Bland who is in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame for singing Blues, which is also My favorite style of music. I am especially fond of original music, my last bands have included Wha' Tha Duece, The Blues Slingers , and my Favorite Southern Hard Rock band "South
Of Heaven". I live in the country, own my land and am working on building a small Log Cabin. I thank God(YHVH) in Jesus name, everyday for the changes he has made in my life, and for his blessings he has bestowed on me especially my family. My sister "Denise" Died in a vehicle accident in 81,and my parents adopted her two boys. The eldest is a Doctor with three degrees and practices Emergency Medicine in east Texas. The youngest was too much like me at a young age and has turned his life, around. Both are married to Beautiful
women I am proud to call "Sister". I hope if the ignorance of my youth brought hurt to anyone of anykind,it may be forgiven. My best wishes and prayers to all who remember. I started buildin...Expand for more
g the Cabin in '09, saving for each phase. My time is spent with my folks and working on my cabin. I'm in pretty good health, other than having four damaged discs in my back. I'm determined the permanent back injury will not keep me down. I have two dogs; a German Rottweiller and A dog I rescued from the pound, Half Rott and Lab. Dude and Baby Girl. I still love to ride motorcycles, as I did in school. I'm compassionate and caring, as well as passionate for things or activities I undertake. Sometimes, I procrastinate but most of the time I get it done. I hope everyone turned into who and what they wanted to be. God bless! Sept 10 2012 Still working on my cabin. Sometimes it takes a while to save for the next steps when building. I am working toward my last inspection, my "certificate of occupancy". The stairs are done except for some routing and finish. Next are the cabinets, vanities, along with finishing the wood on the ceilings and walls, the last phase of plumbing, Countertops, fireplace and floors. Then I'll move in. I thank YHVH that his strength, gives me the ability to work on It 2-4 hrs at a time. And by his blessings the money comes, not always as fast as I would like, but, some things are worth saving and doing. Hello to my friends. If you were my friend you are. If you are my friend you'll always be. True ones are few and in between, I cherish them so they'll always be.
