Darrell Revel:  

Life After H.H.S., Darrell went to the Univ. of Montevallo for a BFA, then did 3 years on Broadway, and went back to UM for his Masters Degree in Education. For 23 years Darrell Revel was an Artist in Residence for the Alabama State Council on the Arts and Humanities. In that time he was making films, commercials and voice-overs, directing, acting, writing, and teaching. Revel spent 12 years with Birmingham Children's Theatre as their Touring Shows Director co-ordinating 5 national tours each season. He's authored and co-authored several books on acting, magic, and martial arts and has written over 80 stage plays to date. Finally in 'semi-retirement', Darrell is spending more time in the US with his wife of 25 years and their two daughters (a teenager and a fourth grader) while producing numerous after-school specials for Nick and ABC. Citing a desire to "give something back" Revel took the position of Head of the Theatre Department at Mortimer Jordan High School to develop a Drama program (in the last public high school in the Jefferson County system to implement one)this he accomplished in just 2 1/2 years. Darrell insists he isn't slowing down because of old age, rather, he says he just doesn't want to neglect his fishing time. People at the JeffCo B.O.E. say, "we're glad a favored son has returned home and wish him well in the classroom."
