Darrell's Story
Life
I left Texarkana after school and spent 8 years in the Navy. I've been married to my wife Terilyn for 38 years now we have 3 children, Akilah, Darrell jr., and Andrew. We also have four grandchildren. We've lived in a community called Birch Bay since the beginning. It used to be a small beach community with about 600 people except during the summer when it would swell to about 4000. Now the population increase has brought it to around 6000 people year-round. Vancouver, BC, Canada 30 minutes away. So there is always lots to do. Most of our free time is spent on the grandkids these days, going to their school events, after school events, taking them camping and fishing, and the occasional trip to anywhere. I have been retired for two years now but seem to be busier than ever these days.
Oh and you have to love the rain in order to live here, seems like we get liquid sunshine 8 months out of the year. So when the rainy season is over with you appreciate it very much. But you can't let a little rain stop you from getting out and enjoying things, so you learn to deal with it.
