Dave's Story
After leaving the Copper Country after finishing with Da Tech, I tried unsuccessfully to land a job in the Medical Technology field. Round about way, I got into sales and never looked back. I love selling products and services and have done fairly well at it with over 80 Million dollars of products ranging in price from a couple hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Still love Tinkering with old cars and returning to the ole Copper Country for visits. I met my Wife Kari at Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan and married her 6 years later. We have one son, David Selmer who lives in Elwood Indiana. We have our first grandchild, Gracie, what a doll. We moved from Jackson to Marshall, Mi and then to Austin Texas for 17 years. aid off when the electronics business went to China and spent 2 years looking. When I finally tossed in the towel, Kari and I talked about our options and she said that if we had to move, she would like to move back home to Jackson. So, with that, I started sending out resumes and landed a job in days with Sensors, Inc. in Saline, Michigan selling exhaust emissions equipment. Fun job and great people. I have been lucky enough over the years to travel to Japan, Thailand, Mexico and virtually all around the states. Kari is truly my sole mate and the best move I ever made was to marry her. She is truly a wonder. Until 2001 she worked everyday without fail even though she is legally blind.. You would never know it. She was the first female paramedic in Michigan and worked on the ambulance in the Jackson/Ann Arbor area for close to 20 years. She is now a 3 year breast cancer survivor and my hero.
