Dave's Story
My bio:
Dave Asher, a 3rd generation Renoite is the founder of Buy Nevada First, a buy Local Program. This program is the first in the country to build an on line directory listing ALL Locally Owned Businesses for free. The result of this effort is to help create Local Jobs and Local Economic Recovery. Dave also owns the Buy Nevada First Gift Shop in the Reno Town mall, and the new Nevada Gift Shop in the Legends mall. These stores feature products from Nevada merchants.
Dave has over 25 years of of retail ownership and management here in the Reno area, starting as an owner/operator of a local grocery store and delicatessen, at age 22.
Dave built, opened and operated Reno-Fernley Raceway, 500 acre Motor Sports park. That effort lead to a tourism award for Lyon County presented by Lt Governor Lorraine Hunt.

retail startups, Dave was promoted as sales manager to launch Sport Haus Exotic car showroom. A successful sales and service business.
Recently Dave was nominated by the Plum 100 group as one of 100 most influential people in Northern Nevada, and in the top 10 community leaders, this is his second nomination.
Dave was honored to team with EDAWN (Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada) to launch the We Think Local campaign.
Dave was also on the nominating committee and a judge for the EDAWN Industry Excellence Awards 2012, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 2019.
Dave is on the Board for Entrepreneur Nevada,
Next up was launching Buy Nevada First gift shop & visitors center in 2012, staring out as a 4,000 sq, ft. store, it's now expanded to 20,000 sq. ft.
Now (11/2019) there is a new store in Sparks, the Nevada Gift Shop.
