Dave's Story
Life
Retired from Army Reserve at 50, from Civil Service at 53 and moved to Arkansas. Got into older cars, had a 79 MGB roadster and have an 84 Porsche 928S. Looking for a 37 Ford pickup. Now Porsche is gone and decided no more old vehicles.
Do different jobs that interest me. In 2004 went to Florida for the clean up and was in New Orleans from 5 Sep 2005. What a mess. Glad I was able to see the area before the twins. I decided to say I have had enough fun in LA and went home the 29th of Aug, 2006. Back to the outdoors, lakes, fox, eagle where the most noise is a deer running across the front lawn. Been back for several months and have decided I will not accept any more employment. Time to really be retired.
Well, I lied up above. Have been doing a little part time work and in the middle of developing an all digital system for tracking and invoicing the debris clean up. nnessee and Illinois. Keep hopping. Spent last 3 months in Iowa as the Public Assistance Co-ordinator for Demolition. Worked with 17 Applicants and advided them on how to get money from FEMA and more important, how to keep it.
Well, it is a couple of years later. Worked in late 2009 on some clean up and called it quits. Still in Arkansas. Go to New Orleans every Sept or Oct to meet up with some friends I made down there. Make a couple trips to Augusta, GA each year to visit with 4 grand kids. Due to ongoing health issues (who doesn't have them when they make level 74) I tend to spend most of my time close to home.
Just got back from New Orleans (Oct 2017) after visit with engineer from parish and co worker that lives in Memphis. Sure glad I went down couple weeks earlier than usual. Was hot and humid but made it home the week before Nate. Good timing. Been to Augusta a couple of times, Canada, Memphis, Tulsa. Have a trip to San Antonio next month and maybe back to Augusta. Bout had enough fun traveling
