David's Story
My name is David Austin. I went to school on the Iron Range as far as 7th. grade. 1965, in Bovey. Boy Scouts and hiking was fun. Prior to that I was at Calumet Elementary. Does anyone know me? I would like to know where Barbara Johnson and her Brother Clarence ended up? My friends, James Tourilla and Gary (Rhyte ? spelling?). Any of the Groshans (Terry?), The Antonavich's? I was one of those people that always stayed on the outside of everything. Not that I wanted to, but out of a neccessary protection plan that only I could devise.

June 1966 I moved to Minneapolis. I hated the city and still do. It is a horrible place, full of enticements. I attended Hosterman Junior High in New Hope for three years during 1966-1969, then on to Cooper High School for the Viet Nam War years. I went to Cooper High from 1969 to 1971. I was being suspended regularily for skipping class or having my hair too long. I quit school in April 1971. went back to complete 10th grade, then quit again in November 1972.
