David's Story
Hey, remember me? If you saw a Werewolf running amuck on campus, or a high school play with a bunch of characters with beards and aged faces, that was some of my work! I fell in love with creating monsters and characters using special makeup and EFX at a very early age.
At 21, I moved to Hollywood and worked at Don Post Studios (largest manufacturer of Halloween masks). I moved on to working as a Special Effects Makeup Artist for Steven Spielberg's CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, helping to make the ETs. I sculpted and molded a 6 foot long gia...Expand for more
nt ant for EMPIRE OF THE ANTS. Made the masks worn in TOURIST TRAP. I worked in the makeup lab at Universal Studios, a childhood dream come true, where all those wonderful Universal monsters and aliens were created from the movies I fell in love with growing up. While there I worked on Battlestar: Galactica, Buck Rogers, and more.
Today, I'm the Rental Manager for Mardi Gras Costume Shop in Scottsdale. Stop by and say hello. I also have a company called Movie Makeup Magic, and continue to make things for the film, theatre, and Halloween industries.
