David's Story

Coast Guard to MI Tech, 30 years later I'm living just south of San Francisco and ride my HD-XR1200 down the Pacific coast and up the redwood hills weather permitting, like Feb 13th. Love to rub it in, so i call mom every Sunday back in Bay City. Timeline - 70-74 Coast Guard electronics Tech; 74-80 Mich Tech BSEE with side trips into antiques and woodworking; 80-85 General Electric Software Engineering school and Edison engineering program UVA Charlottesville; 85-91 G&L Machine tool Company in Fond du Lac Wisconsin doing automation software R&D; 91-97 RUST Engineering Systems Integration (PE Control Systems 1998) 1997-2000 GM Y2K Manufacturing worldwide (wrote a little book on Y2K testing used globally in 6 languages) - 2001-08 Air Transport IT doing project management in Airport IT (DTW, PHL, SMF, SJC); 2008-2011 Parsons Engineering at SFO Airport IT, now working for the City of San Francisco at SFO managing Terminal Systems. Family - Married 1974-98 had four kids; coached Odessy of the mind, ran a local science fair, built tree houses, and tested the patience of my kids. Married 1999-2004 to Sally Muhlenbeck of AHHS. y Honeymoon in 2006 with Jlo. Amsterdam 4days, Zurich 3days, Milan 2days, Rome 7days, Venice 4days, Florence 2days. Time to go again. Best Resturants in the world - Jules Verne - Eiffel Tower; La Pergola - Hilton Rome; The Palace Sunday Brunch - San francisco. Worst Class in AHHS - Economics Best Class in AHHS - Physics-Hooper/Algebra-Thomas Most Fun Class - Band - no work and all play What i drove then - Red 1965 Triumph TR4 What i drive now - Red 1990 BMW 535 5-spd ( for the last 19 years), a 2010 Chrysler 300C and the Harley. Jlo is an S2000 fan. My California Joke: Most mid-westerners think California is laid back, but mostly out here we only work half days ( 12 hours a day ) My current PC i built Dec 2008: W 7-64; Intel core i7-920 6gig ram, 1 TB HD, and a 32" screen.
