David's Story
After graduating Baker High in May 1957, I joined the Air Force in September. Became a Radio Intercept Operator (very interesting work) Spent a year in England and a year and a half in Turkey. Came back to Columbus and went to work in the Finance Industry. In 1963 I started a career with the State of Georgia, Insurance Dept. Spent 30 years and retired Nov 1992. Started my own business as a Consultant and am still working in that field, although I have slowed down, especially on the travel. I cover the State of Georgia, and Georgia is a big state. Work out of my home and love being my own boss.
Married in 1961, for the first time, and had two girls....Expand for more
Now ages 46 and 43. I have two grandsons and one grandaughter. They all live in the Atlanta area, about 120 miles from my home.
Divorced and remarried in 1986. No children. That marriage ended in August 2006 (Divorce final in April 2007) Am currently single, but I hope not for long. Marriage is the only way to go. A good one is great.
I enjoy high school and Air Force reunions. Attend at least three a year. It's fun reliving the good ole days.
Work with the Baker High Alumni Association trying to keep the old school name alive, even though the school itself is closed.
I like to fish, travel, some hunting and enjoy listening to the old music.
