David's Story
Attended Freshman and part of Sophomore years at Buchser before parents decided to move us to San Jose. It was a difficult change for sure leaving everyone and moving to an entirely new environment. After graduating from Santa Theresa, I moved back to Missouri. Only there for a brief time before I joined the Navy and started basic training in San Diego. I really enjoyed my 21 years in the Navy, saw some truly outstanding places and things.
Retired from the Navy in October 2000 and settled in NJ for the next part of my life spending just over 20 years there working as a Project Manager in Telecommunications.
Mom and dad had been after me for years to return back to the mid-west so in the Fall of 2019, I finally decided it was time to move back.
Married in 1979, had three AWESOME children, divorced in 1988. Tried it again but wound up just divorcing again 8 years. So now with 4 children (3 daughters and a son), 4 granddaughters and one grandson, I'm kept pretty busy. My new bride will be home soon and will be one big happy family again. Pretty much spent the last 24 years by myself, working on my career. It just amazes me how fast time h...Expand for more
as flown by. Seems like only yesterday I was standing on the graduation field, and here we all are 43 years later.
COVID19 has really changed the world and only strengthened my resolve.
The days of the 8-5 grind are almost over.
Wishing everyone the very best from all the schools that I attended - Millikin Elementry, William A Wilson, Jr. HS, Buchser and of course Santa Theresa HS'.
Since I left California in 1979, I have only been back once in 1993. I remember visiting all the above schools and remembering both the good and sad times (mostly good though). Funniest thing that happened, when I was walking down along the long corridor at William A Wilson Jr HS (with my yearbook in hand), someone stopped me and asked me if they could help me get around the Adult Education School there.... I laughed and said no, I was just remembering my time there in Junior High School. They attempted to convince me though that the school there was always an Adult Education Center. I just laughed and begged to differ and then showed them my yearbook. I guess they had really not known the full history of that school.
Enough rambling. Everyone take care.
