David's Story
I teach Canadian military history, Canadian foreign policy and strategic studies at the Un iversity of Calgary. Been in Calgary 51 years. Married 35 years on my second try. We have 5 "kids" between us, one grand daughter., two grandsons. I went to lots of places over the years like Afghanistan, Australia, Europe, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, etc on business and vacations. These days I hardly go anywhere. or Military and Strategic Studies and Department of History. I live on an acreage west of Calgary. I drive a 2003 BMW Z4 in the summer and a '2010 BMW X3 in the winter. Like country music, 80s, and classical. Fish, hunt and lots of target shooting. I'm a bit of a gun nut. Conservative in my politics but socially liberal. Very pro Canadian Forces. Hated Monklands High with a passion. It was a hole in my life. Barely scraped through. Graduated Sir George in 1966, went to U of T for MA and PhD. Graduated in 1971. Just been chugging on ever since.
