On to law school at Southwestern Law School. Started practice in Orange County. There from about 1976 to 1987. Married for the first time at age 40 to Patty Gerdes. We moved to Moreno Valley. Have two children. One is a freshman at UC Santa Barbara. The other a sophomore in a local high school. I enjoy my family life and my job. Divorce law is all I do. It is a challenge but not too much of a challenge. Please visit my web site at (they won't let me post it). I do hope you never need my services. If you know of anyone in the Inland Empire who needs a divorce lawyer give them my name. Thanks. They won't let me post my phone number either. Just look me up in the phone book or use directory assistance. On an search engine type in David F. Blaisdell lawyer. What teacher would I like to see again? Mr. Rotstan who taught history. He was great. Wildest thing in High School? Not much daring. Richard Slack and I would buy a six pack of beer on a Friday or Saturday night. I was tall enough that I did not have to produce an ID at certain places. We would go to the drive in and smoke cigars and drink beer. Sounds boring now but it was a big deal then. First crush? Margie Estes lived next door. We went out a time or two. She was socially very advanced...Expand for more
compared to me. Just kissing. She was very advanced as far as kissing. I'll leave it at that. Old friends remember me? I was a real nerd in high school. "Socially awkward" is the correct phrase. Actually growing up more slowly than others has some advantages. Biggest surprise in life to me is how much fun kids can be. I never had any brothers or sisters and relatives lived a ways off. I really didn't know that much about children. My kids were a lot of fun. Glad I was able to go places and do things with them. About high school they become much more independent. I you have younger children you should treasure those years they are young. You can never go back in time. I am just glad I spent as much time with the kids as I did. Another surprise was my first high school class reunion in 1974. I went but I was very hesitant. I feared that people would say: "Well, here is Dave. Still a student. Maybe someday he'll get a job." I had jobs in the past. a BA from college, army service and I was in my last semester of law school. I will still concerned that people would take being a student negative. It never happened. A number of people came up and congratulated me on being in law school. That felt good. Thank you all for boosting my self confidence. My greatest regret in high school was not being more active in school groups and extra curricular type things. I try to get my kids into these things but have little luck. My personal philosophy? Life can be viewed as a terminal illness. Live, enjoy and experience it as much as possible. It won't last forever. All for now 2-25-08
