David's Story
Since it's highly unlikely that we'll be making the Class of '78 Reunion in September, thought I'd send out a hello to former classmates & a brief update of where we're at in life these days. Could take some time to capture a few paragraphs but here's the "Down & Dirty" as of August 2013 -
Married almost 28 years to my best friend (Sorry Marty-Mar!) & soul mate, Tammy. We've shared the lives of our four kids, Lacy, Natasha, plus Marcus and Elizabeth for this span which has included the marriages of the youngest three siblings. Two full-on awesomely, amazing wedding events for Natasha & Beth that added two great young men as son-in-laws (Adam & Jimmy) and a simple civil service for practical Marcus while he was on leave from the Navy to wife, Ashley. Thanks for letting us off cheap on that one, Son.
So far three grandchildren to spoil and boy does Tammy do that well! - Natasha & Adam have Haley, almost 4 years old and Hannah, 8 months. Marcus & Ashley have a son, Jacob, just ...Expand for more
shy of four years. We spend our time chasing grandkids from Eugene (Tasha & Adam) to Norfolk, Virginia to San Diego (where Marcus is currently stationed & Beth and Jimmy live nearby.)
Tammy works as an account executive for a San Francisco based agency while I'm the quality manager at the Grants Pass facility of a cabinet manufacturing corporation. Work keeps us busy and does take us on the road from time to time but not to many exotic locations. Since her accounts are primarily West Coast based & our factory only ships just short of the Mississippi River, Hawaii, Alaska, & Canada are just about as interesting as it will get for business activities. Last business trip for me when I spent a week in Hawaii, I spent a whopping total of 30 minutes after dinner on Waikiki Beach. At least I got my toes in the sand! Not that I didn't see some amazing vistas after hiking to the top of Diamond Head. I did tour Pearl Harbor which even after all these years was a very somber experience.
